메탈셀의 특징을 요약하면 다음과 같다.
＊중량 당 에너지 밀도가 높다.
＊건조상태에서 보관하면, 자연방전이 거의 없어 장시
간의 보관수명을 가진다.
＊유독한 전해질이나 금속을 사용하지 않아 안전하다.
＊전지반응으로 생성된 물질들은 환경오염이 거의 없
다.
＊금속전극을 교환함으로써 충전이 이루어진다.
＊타 전지에서 보이는 메모리 효과가 없다.
이 마그네슘 연료 즉 금속음극을 오래 사용하여서 음극에 구멍이 뚫린 경우출력이 저하됩니다. 전류부하나 공기의 흐름에 따라 출력 전압 변동이 있습니다. 전해질 : 소금물(농도 6% ~ 12%)을 추천함. 그러나 바닷물(농도 약 3%)도 사용가능

＊재충전 회수 : 10회 이상 (최상의 관리시 더 많은 재충 전이 가능함)
＊전극을 한번 다 사용한 후에는 세척이 요구됩니다.
그렇게 하지 않으면 내부의 금속 산화물이 누적되면서
파괴가 일어날 수 있으니 주의하시기 바랍니다.
＊메탈셀은 연속 전력이 10W 이고 순간전력은 20W입니 다. 만일 외부의 공기 팬이 있다면 20W 에서 도 연속적
으로 사용할 수 있습니다.

3. 금속연료전지와 일회용 금속 공기전지는 군용으로 개발되고 있습니다.
Electrolyte fill up
The MetalCell (CMAB5A) requires 500 ml of salt water solution to fill.
The salt water solutions consist of 1 - 20% sodium/potassium chloride this content is what activates
the cells to achieve optimal performance.
Seawater has 2-4% of? metal chlorides and human urine has about 1%Optimum concentration for the
best performance is in the range of 6 - 12%.
Activation and deactivation
The addition of salt solution to the electrolyte activates the anodes to generate electrons.
Magnesium anodes degrades to magnesium hydroxide that contaminates the electrolyte.
The CMAB5A makes current capacities of 15Ah (ANCMAB15) and 50Ah (ANCMAB50) per one
charging respectively. This unit may deactivates when the temperature of the system reaches boiling
point, or when the metal hydroxide cement fills the cells too much. Severe water evaporation
decreases electrolyte levels and the poor power results.
Cooling by air blowing
CMAB5A needs fresh air to make power and decrease its temperature,
the addition of good venting also ensures high power.
The cooling fan working at 5V and 350 mA is prepared as an accessory to increase the system
performance at high power of 30W.
Cleaning and replenishing
CMAB5A needs regular maintenance cleaning to remove the metal oxide cement from the cell reaction.
Remove the anodes from the cells and then wash out the metal oxide cement.
The thick magnesium anode ANCMAB50 needs frequent replenishing of electrolyte because it has
much larger electrochemical mass than the water filled in the cell. To use out the anode
(ANCMAB50) completely, more than 3 times of the replenishing are needed.
Storage
Separate the anodes from the cells (cathode assembly) and dry the anodes and then keep in a dry and air-tight bag.
Environmental issue
The battery produces environmentally safe, lean and disposable waste from the metal fuel oxidation.
Output voltage control
A DC-DC converter with different voltages between 8-28V is available as optional accessory
(One type provides two selectable voltages, for example 14V and 28V.)
Terminal
Electrical terminals may be changed to varioustypes according to consumers’ requirement.
Caution
- Do not short the terminal. It may boil and injure the operator.
- Do not electrically recharge. This may seriously degrade the air cathodes.
- Do not use in a closed space or near open flames due to hydrogen gas emissions
